Black-out Poetry

Hi guys!

Welcome to my third blog :D

This day we made an activity wherein our professor divided the group into two groups. The first group will be given a magazine which they will cut the images of a person to be used in making comics. The activity was called "speech bubble story."

The second group will be given a news article wherein they will use the words written on the newspaper to create a poem. This activity called "Black-out-poetry."

I belonged to the Second group. On my own perspective creating a poem is a little bit harder than the first group. But I took the challenge because it is very rare that I make poems.

It took me almost 3 hours to finish the activity, not fast because I am not really creative in writing but I can, so I stretched myself and give it  a try.

And this was the result.  I hope appreciate your time to read the poem I made :D

Women = sex(cross out the word "sex") Dignity and Power

Women = sex
Equation of powerful men
Unaware of his off-color jokes
Left scars who hear his jokes

Why would he change his ways?
When women continue to laugh at his ways?
Women seems to be unaware
Women = power is his nightmare

Women don't know if it's just a pose
Or maybe that's his game to expose
Until we become inured to insults
End up accepting hiss posts

How pathetic to sale pitch
Women's bodies used on his pitch
Continually be shamed from his gaffe
Not keeping their peace and accepting his gaffe

Men cannot stand women who ooze power
Men cannot represent women the latest example
Alongside men, women have fought
Domestic and Foreign Tyranny have been toppled

Every women from all walks have power
Men cannot deny us these power
Men have taken down from his abusive behavior
Hence, Women = Sex (crossed out) Dignity and Power.
