Being a teacher

Hi everyone!

Welcome to my 2nd blog in Edtech 2 😀

The meeting that we had from our professor was memorable.
Why?
Because she gave us tips how to become a good teacher.

Our professor advice us in taking board examination. She said "Think of it as if you will top the exam." A powerful message from her, difficult but it is true, if your dreams are higher you will pursue it high also meaning you will give much effort to attain it. She further explained the meaning of it that if ever you did not reach the top atleast you pass, she tough us not to think that we will pass only, she commanded us to think that we will top the exam.
We should also consider the review center that we will go to study with (specifucally check the percentage of passers)

Another advice from her is that when we become a teacher never ever put business in a class as it will  affect the main purpose of the student which is to study "not to buy your product or whichever business that you have taht involves exchanging of goods or service for money."

When we become a teacher we should always do this cycle that she have thought us which is "PLAN > IMPLEMENTATION > EVALUATION." In planning section it compose of having syllabus, lesson plan, ehile in implementation it must showcase classroom management principles of teaching, and instructional materials, and last in evaluation composes of examinations, quizzes/test.

We are also ask by our professor by "Where we will teach, Grade school or Senior High School?"

Another tip by our professor, she remind us to add spices the way we conduct our lesson (meaning we must add, fun, challenge, a litte bit technology that will enticed students during lesson).

From her advices we learned a lot from the meeting, we envisioned ourselves to become a good teacher, educator someday.

Going back on her class discussion about online teaching she advisenod to create online acct to be a teacher and to be a student to other members of the group. By the way our group is Contemporary arts, we are 5 members in the group, meaning all of us will create an edmodo account to be a teacher then the other members will join as a student. All in all, all of the members will experience to become a teacher on an online class and will upload 3 lessons, will give 3 quizzes (10 items each), 1 unit test (25 items) and 1 Final Exam (50 items). Since we are 5 members in the group, we will have a total of 4 subjects as a student.

Another great challenge to us her students to practice our teaching using the technology "edmodo." She also shared the technology that they have used before which is the "balabolka," wherein you just only need to type the words and enter it to the app and the app will read it for you. The balabolka is an app which is the main objective is "text to speech."

Our profesor again remind us to read and read as this is the main skill that a teacher must have.

Lastly she reminded us that we will know on ourselves if we are ready for the examination, if not take more time to be ready.

See the image below? It says "I will absolutely TOP the Board Exam."

Edtech 2

Hi everyone!

As I promised. You guys will be with me for the next term.

So I welcome you to the continuation of my blog for Educational Technology. Hooray!

Another journey for us. I hope everything will be accomplished greatly.

And now I am announcing my blogs for  Edtech 2 is now officially open. Hoping you guys will enjoy reading.

So let's start!

First stop. I'd like to share to you guys what happened to our first meeting.

Our professor, Mrs. Olivar evaluated us on our submmitted blogs last year. She gave some tips to all of our blogs. The most important tip that I remembered is...

Our blog should have at least have a touch of the topics that was being discussed every meeting, not too much personal.

She also added that we need to know the feeling of the readers on our blog, in short the blog should be concise, clear and somehow interesting to read.

Second stop. She discussed the major activities that we will be doing for this term. One of the activities that we need to start with is having an online class.

Like really?

It feels like we are applying what we have learned about MOOC (Massive Open Online Course)

On the online class we need to create an account that has an assigned teacher and students.

The groupings last year is still the same. The online class should have a subject, we have picked ARTS as our subject. The online class should have one teacher and the other members will act as a student, our professor should also be included to the online class and she will act also as a student.

The said online class should have attendance monitoring, 3 lessons, 3 quizzes (10 pts each quiz), 1 unit test (25 pts) and 1 term test (50pts). All of these should have time limits for the students to submit all their answers. These will be graded on the website.

Amazing isn't? we are going digital! Another challenge for us, future teachers.

Lastly before our class ended, our professor gave as another opportunity to do greenscren film. Another project to make 🙌

Me and my groupmates the "Investigative team" were challenged because we have less exposure on green screen. So we need to maximize the use of green screen on our next film!

Well we say "Challenge accepted!"

So that's it for today guys.
And of course I wont be leaving you hanging without any inspirational quotes to ponder.

I want to share these beautiful quote from George S. Patton "Accept challenges so that you will feel the exhilaration of Victory."

For me, without any challenges you will not feel any improvement, life will be boring. Challenges makes our lives beautiful.

Thankyou for reading. See you guys on my next blog ❤
