How stress affects your brain - Madhumita Murgia
Konnichiwa! This is my 7th blog.
Our professor notified us on 28th of October that we will be having a Unit Test next week. So we got to be prepared for the said examination. And I'm wondering...
I'm sure some of us are afraid to take an exam.
My suggestion to those individuals who are afraid to take an examination is don't worry too much. Instead you must be prepared and relaxed. Everything will be fine.
Just to remind you stress makes your brain small! I'm just kidding...
What do I mean by the phrase "Stress makes your brain small? Let's find out!
I'd like to share with you this video that I have recently watched from Ted-Ed "How stress affects your brain," by Madhumita Murgia. The video below:
In the end of the video it says that stress may be passed on through the next generations it will be incorporated with our genes, how awful isn't? Well if we don't want this scenario to happen we've got to do some exercise or meditation whichever do you prefer according to the video above.
Why? Because it will not only regulate your body but it will also help your mind to be more aware around your surroundings and of course to calm your inner self. That everything in your life right now will be fine. No matter how big or small your problems are everything will be fine.
If you would ask me "What do I do to overcome this stress?" I will just listen to a lively music, gotta believe that I'm the main vocalist of that song and I will dance in front of the mirror feeling that I'm enjoying my life and no one, yes no one can hinder me from doing this. Funny isn't it? Well that's me.
Of course we cannot do this alone. Praying, and believing in God would be a great help.
All things are possible with Him. So why worry? worrying will only be useless.
I know we have different situations in life but just to give you some advice, it's about how you perceive those trials in life. And I hope you will have your own way to handle this little thing called stress. See the message on the picture? "All things are possible if you believe," Mark 9:23.
There you have it guys, we already take the first Unit Test last on the 4th of November it was a bit hard but of course we did it! After the exam we are informed by our professor about editing photos. Exciting topic again, we will be trained to use applications in the computer to edit our own photos!
Well I hope this blog somehow helped you the way you faced challenges in life. See you on my 8th blog. Sayonara!

Interactive!
Hi everyone!
This is my 6th blog! We are almost half of the 2nd term in Educational Technology 1.
And I really wanted to share with you our great experience this last meeting! Well believe it or not, it was so fun!
Each group presented well. And us their classmates really felt much enjoyment throughout the evening. Why? Because it feels like we are on quiz bee! Smart competition happened between each groups and it really challenge our memories.
The quiz was very interactive and it feels like we are on a game show, trying to answer questions quickly as possible to get those prizes (chocolates, mallows, biscuits, and juices). The prizes were not big but it shows an appreciation for us who participated the quizzes.
The important part on this meeting is for us to be able to create a quiz using Microsoft Power point and Excel. And this is very exceptional lesson because this would be an exciting interactive learning for my future students. Thanks to our professor Mrs. Angelica Olivar for teaching us this exceptional topic. It would be a great help for us the future teachers. And of course in our group we also learned new things the way we should present the quiz. First we should give concrete and clear directions, second the correct and wrong answer should be showed to the audience to avoid confusion, third there must be a tally sheet to present the current scores of each team, and we should also include some prizes to the winners of the quiz game.
Lastly before blog ends. I wanted to share with you this quotation by Benjamin Franklin, he said "Tell me and I forgot, Teach me and I remember, Involve me and I learn."
There you have it guys! Thanks a lot for reading.

How you must be?
Hi Everyone!
Today is my 5th blog in our subject which is Educational Technology 1. So Let's start!
See the image? It was asking how, how we must be when presenting?
Well our professor discussed and give some advice and tips on how we should present in the front of the class.
Those tips are:
Tip #1 Volume: This is very essential when speaking in front, we must know the feeling of a student who is seating at the back trying to understand you. Your voice should be heard at the back to catch the audience attention to listen, if not they will do something else.
Tip #2 Diction: Choosing the right and exact words will make your presentation precise, simple and understandable.
Tip #3 Articulation: This is simply the correct pronunciation of words. We, future teachers should always and must basically learn how to pronounce words clearly and precise.
Tip #4 Audience: Of course this is the last but not the least! We should consider our audience, we should catch their attention, to be able listen to our lessons (e.g. if your audience is children you must make you presentation colorful and has many images)
Moving on to the main topic. My professor presented the 8 tips for an awesome power point presentation. This is the link if you want to view it just copy the link: https://www.slideshare.net/damonnofar/8-tips-for-slideshare/42
Tip #1 Create your own design of your template, meaning don't use the usual template saved in your computer be creative and design on your own;
Tip #2 Color, choose a color that suites your topic, don't use too dull colors;
Tip #3 Font, do some experiments in using fonts. You will find the better one;
Tip #4 Text, limit the text inside a slide because it will make your presentation boring;
Tip #5 Image, use image whenever possible it will be very useful to the audience to catch what is your main idea;
Tip #6 Big, think big means treat your presentation as an advertisement or a commercial on TV what will catch their attention;
Tip #7 Infographics, use a creative infographics, not the usual smart art;
Tip # Get inspired.
There you have it! I am grateful to know these all and I am looking forward to use this tips in the future.
Lastly Mrs. Angelica Olivar, our professor in Educational Technology 1 presented a quiz using an Microsoft excel. Amazing isn't it? She even taught us how to do it, and for practice she gave us an assignment to create one either power point or an excel. This thing was very exceptional because I am not really well versed in Microsoft power point and excel. And i'm really excited for the outcome of our assignment next meeting.
Of course before this blog ends I wanted to leave an inspirational quotes that is somehow related to my experience because I am really not good in managing tools in Microsoft power point and excel, I just need to learn and adapt and I believe I will be good after numerous of practice.
Thank's for reading!

Learning Everywhere!
Hi everyone!
To start with I'll gonna share my thoughts about the topics that was discussed last Saturday, 7th of October 2017. All of the topics were very
interesting and I have learned a lot of important things on this 4th meeting. Well now I'm excited to share you some of my views about the reports of my fellow students.
So let's start.
So let's start.
There were 6 groups who
reported and the topics were:
Group 1: Copy right, Fair use
and Plagiarism
Group 2: Netiquette and Cyber
bullying
Group 3: Digital Divide and
Addiction
Group 4: Ubiquitous Learning
and Wearable Technology
Group 5: 3D Environment and
Virtual Reality
Group 6: Massive Open Online
Content
In just one meeting we were
able to finished those topics amazing isn't it?
I have learned so much important things
with those topics above.
On the first topic which was
Copy right, Fair use and Plagiarism. We all know that the information that we
are getting on the internet, books, and many more source of information should
be our basis not to own their idea. For whose ever collected, synthesized or
formulated those facts, ideas or information should remain in them not to be owned by anybody. That is why there are rules and regulations about this. There are limits and if happens we breached
it? We could be penalized and worst we could be punished depending on
the law.
On the second topic which was
Netiquette and Cyber bullying. These is famous because we ought to humiliate
people who we think are weak. We people usually think that we have more power over
them because of our looks or standing in life which they don't have. We already
think that we are perfect and they are not. I learned that before you type in those harsh words to them please think over it multiple times. Reflect and ask
yourself will it benefit you? will it help you to become rich? will it contribute to your mission in life? will it make your life more worthy? If the answer is NO well
better keep your hands off the keyboard! Observe and don't let your emotions make you small. Because you never know the feeling of being bullied. If you
will be putting your feet under their shoes I guess the feelings will be mutual
as well. So better be punctual to the rules of Netiquette. We all know that
written words online now can be captured or reproduced and can be charged
against you.
Moving on to the third topic
which was Digital Divide and Addiction. Well I am guilty about this. Sigh. It is
true I am addicted to my cellphone. Sad. I realized that when I bought my first
android phone last year and Mobile Data was already popular. Of course I ought
to maximize the load in 3 days because I usually load 50 pesos for 1GB of
Mobile Data. It resulted into handling my phone scrolling down through media sites, spreading
likes on posts videos in Facebook and in Instagram. Many times I forgot to
thank God first every morning cause my mind was already stocked, curious what
is going on, the recent updates on my messenger, face book posts. It often kills my time and I do forgot things that needs to be done first.
I have learned because this topic really stroked my heart I mean I am guilty
and right now I am managing myself not to dedicate my self into my cellphone
every time.
The fourth topic which is the
group that I belong with it was the Ubiquitous Learning and Wearable
Technology. This is actually my third blog. This topic is really interesting
because it talks about those technologies and wearable technologies that can be
used in the near future in education.
Fifth topic! Second the last
topic it talks about the 3D Environment and Virtual Reality. I am somehow
impressed by these technology especially the Virtual Reality because one of my
dreams before was to become a Medical Doctor and and with these technology you
will be able to practical surgery without buying actual dead body to test with.
Of course for those who love entertainment like games this would be a great
gear!
And last but not the least, the
Sixth topic which is Massive Open Online Content. This topic really catches my
attention. It was like learning without travelling! what I mean is if you would
like to study online all you need to have is a stable internet connection,
laptop or desktop and that's it you can go ahead and enroll and enjoy the perks
of being home and learning! Someday I will embossed myself to enroll with
online courses. There many courses that are free, although some has fees but
you can use it as your skill reference when finding job. We never know what
will be the jobs that will be in demand in the future and lucky those who can
garb these opportunities cause it is hassle free specially those who are in
remote areas.
There you have it my 4th blog.
And also our professor give an advice, comments and suggestions on how we present a topic or a report in front of students while we are reporting. This would help us to improve ourselves so that by the next time we will be more equipped and ready to report in front many students and of course to prepare us in our practice teaching next year. And I saw a quote related to what our professor meant to say to us her students "Be open to criticism but don't be affected by it. Criticism is meant to help you a better person. Learn from it.

How wearable technology will change our lives | Gonzalo Tudela | TEDxSFU
Hi everyone!
This is the third day blog for our subject Educational Technology. Our professor give topics which we group ourselves into 5 topics.
The topic that was assigned to us is Ubiquitous learning and Wearable technology. We divide our topics into two one for Ubiquitous learning and the other one is Wearable technology. I got the wearable technology which is somehow interesting to talk about.
Ubiquitous learning mainly talks about how the technology develops to make our lives much efficient, lessens efforts, and also lessens time.
While when we talk about the wearable technology it is the application of technology that we "wear". Yes you have red it right. It is the technology that we can wear, use and bring it else where!
Isn't it very convenient?
As you have watched the video above by Mr. Gonzalo Tudela. It mentioned that the wearable technology started in 1561 for a new year's gift to queen Elizabeth. 1644 in Sing Dynasty who innovate abacus ring. 1950 Button spy camera for the Military use, used in Cold war, it was mainly use for spying. 1961 the first circuit board placed on the shoes and it was called "gambling shoes." 1979 where Wearable computing was placed on the head. 2000 when bluetooth headset was made and commercialized.And in 2009 fit bit tracker that tracks specific response from our body to a specific task.
These are some of the technologies that were being worn. Other technology where mainly used in health e.g. hearing aid, bionic eyes, voice modulator, robotic arms, legs. Those was made for those who have disabilities.
The question is how will we develop wearable technology that will benefit the future? Some of the examples are: designing clothes which alarms us if they need to be washed, card that will detect alcohols or any harmful materials in the body that will disabled the car to be used in driving, a tattoos that will determine are moods and will make alerts to do some activities to make us feel better. Those are some of the ideas that the people are thinking now a days.
I guess you are thinking also technology innovation that will be very beneficial in the future.
Before we end this blog I'd like to share this quote by Steve Jobs:
